The opportunity (Tangiwai Sawmill)

We are seeking to recruit a suitably skilled and experienced person to join our Mechanical Maintenance team at the Tangiwai Sawmill. This is a permanent, fulltime position. Tangiwai Sawmill is located close to the small yet well facilitated towns of Ohakune and Taihape. 

 

About you

All candidate requirements include;

§   Trade certificate in Fitting and Turning Level 4, Maintenance and Diagnostics or similar is preferred.

§   Demonstrated technical ability;

o    Heavy machinery and industrial plant maintenance experience.

o    A working knowledge of hydraulics systems and an ability to understand schematic drawings would be advantageous.

§   Demonstrated awareness and utilisation of workplace Health and Safety systems.

§   Physically fit, able and mentally alert, including the ability to work in confined spaces.

§   Available for mechanical callouts, participation in the on-call roster and to work overtime.

§   Hold a Full Class One New Zealand driver’s license and hold or be able to obtain a Forklift endorsement.

We have an opportunity available for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join our Engineering team at the Karioi Pulpmill site, a Major Hazard Facility. This is a permanent, fulltime position. Karioi Pulpmill is located close to the small yet well facilitated towns of Ohakune and Taihape. 

 

 

About you

 

All candidate requirements include;

Graduate Engineer - Electrical

One-Year Fixed-Term

 

The opportunity

Winstone Pulp International (WPI) is located in the Ruapehu District, Central North Island and has two operational sites that manufacture wood pulp products (Karioi Pulpmill) and sawn timber (Tangiwai Sawmill) from renewable plantation pine for domestic and export markets.

 

We are currently seeking a Graduate Engineer (Electrical) to join the WPI team for a one-year, fixed term as part of our graduate programme.  Through the programme the Graduate Engineers will gain general work experience and understanding of the business operations. Ongoing support and development opportunities are provided along with peer support from within the established engineering team.

About you

·         Recently completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics or Automation).

·         A genuine desire to develop your skills and add value to WPI, primarily in the areas of electrical instrumentation and DCS/PLC’s.

·         A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.

·         Experience (holiday work) within a large industrial / manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

·         Has a strong health and safety focus and can work in an organised and disciplined way.

·         Holds a NZ driver’s license (Restricted at minimum).

We are currently seeking an experienced Engineer. 

 

About the role

Reporting to the Pulpmill Production Manager, the Engineer (Chemical and/  or Process) will;

      Provide technical mill support to achieve targeted quality and production rates, safely, at lower costs.

      Work with operational, maintenance and engineering staff to identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot and efficiently use resources to solve problems.

      Lead multi-disciplinary lost ton analyses, ensuring corrective actions to minimise problem reoccurrence is actioned and well communicated to wider team.

      Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analysing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

      Participate in shut preparation, planning and execution; ensuring communication between departments to fulfil requirements.

      Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources

      Resolves customer complaints by analysing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending actions

      Ensures Management of Change process is followed when plant changes / modifications occur, this will include hazard analysis and P&ID updates.

 

About you

·         Will hold at minimum a Bachelor of Engineering (with a major in process and or chemical engineering) or related field.

·         Significant, demonstrated experience in the manufacturing and process industry.

·         Has a strong health and safety focus and can work in an organised and disciplined way.

·         Holds a NZ driver’s license (Restricted at minimum) and has personal transport for travel to and from work.
