The opportunity (Tangiwai Sawmill)
We are seeking to recruit a suitably skilled and experienced person to join our Mechanical Maintenance team at the Tangiwai Sawmill. This is a permanent, fulltime position. Tangiwai Sawmill is located close to the small yet well facilitated towns of Ohakune and Taihape.
About you
Candidate requirements include;
§ a minimum of Level 4 Electrical trade certificate
§ a full NZ EWRB registration and a current practising license
§ demonstrated technical ability and proven success on site as part of the electrical team
o sound knowledge and experience with industrial machinery / plant
o maintenance experience in instrumentation and control systems
§ demonstrated awareness of, and utilisation of workplace Health and Safety systems
§ the ability to work shift roster hours
§ physically fit, able and mentally alert, including the ability to work in confined spaces
§ an exceptional team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
§ a current full driver licence.

§ Demonstrated technical ability;
o maintenance experience of heavy machinery and plant.
o A working knowledge of hydraulics systems, and an ability to understand schematic drawings would be advantageous.
§ Hold a Full Class One New Zealand driver’s license and hold or be able to obtain a Forklift endorsement.
§ Demonstrated awareness of, and utilisation of workplace Health and Safety systems.
§ Physically fit, able and mentally alert, including the ability to work in confined spaces.
§ Availability for mechanical callouts, participation in the on-call roster and to work overtime.
